Once we got home we did further diging about this handycam and was very very very pleased with the purchase. I got this because i some how lost my other camcorder. Used several times and i have yet to be disappointed. Was walking around the mall and saw Ritz camrea was havin a closing sale thought we would chck it out. They had this baby on sale for 530.+tax after using our iphone to chck some other sites decided to buy and thank god we did. The only downside is it is a low MP and only 40gbHD but its still a great camcorder better then my old one it replaced. if you dont wanna spend 1k+ for a camcorder then get this the quility out ways the cheap price by a mile.
This is a really cool camera.I know it's a bit older of a model, but if you can get your hands on one I highly recomend it. It's pretty easy to use and I was impressed with the video quality, especialy the outdoor video.Of course unless you have perfect lighting NO indoor video is ever gonna be perfect, no matter what kind of camera you use.To solve this I purchased a light by SIMA which adds plenty of light and makes the video indoors in LOW light very nice. Also I had no problems with my vista laptop, the Sony software reads the camera right away, I imagine some of those complaints are rather old and the problem has been fixed. Sony just seems to do it right with their camera's.I recomend this to anyone looking for a good HD camera at a low price.
The thumbnails were still there but the video was gone. I received this product, ordered it from [.]. After over a month and hours on the internet chat and phone with sony, they wanted me to re-format (losing the video for good) then I took it to some IT video professionals at works, they were able to recover a few frames of video. The screen was a little messed up, with a line and one side was a little pixilated, but it didn't effect the video so I was going to forget about it, because I didn't want to send it back. Then I took my first video of my 4 year olds dance performance, whenback a month later to edit it and the video was completely gone. i called sony back and said I just wanted a new camera, they said that I would have to pay for labor since my 3 month warranty was up (2months of which I spend dealing with them over the phone and being transferred to 10 different departments - nobody speaking english in an understandable way) so[.].down the drain. DON'T BUY ANYTHING SONY.
I like the camera a lot - easy to use; facial recognition is a great feature; good zoom; picture quality is high. However, I have no idea why there is NO FIREWIRE CAPABILITY. This has to be one of the worst business decisions since Coke went to New Coke. Downloading video to edit takes forever let alone it being useless for live streaming.
Best camera with excellent price.I have used this for few weeks now after purchase.It is rocking.The best HD camera i have purchased so far.
